Why do Women Choose a Watch?

Men's watches are predominantly functional; however there are a certain percentage of the population that opt for style. In either case, a man will generally buy a wristwatch and wear it until it stops ticking, while women will own several at a time and switch them out regularly. What styles are available in womens watches and why do we choose what we choose?

• I believe that the look of the timepiece plays the most major role in why we pick it. If we fall in love with the way it looks, most times it will end up on our wrists. This is all personal taste, but for me the look right now is gold. I can't get enough of the big, shiny gold watches that are on the market. The plated versions are what I can afford, but hey they look fantastic and with the money I save…I can buy a more casual model, as well.

• Speaking of money, the next factor is price. Most of us will accept an expensive timepiece from your husbands or boyfriends, but will rarely spend a lot on one for ourselves. We like variety too much and want to be able to own a couple of great watches.

• Some of us are trend followers and if you are one of these gals…you will notice that wristwatches go through trends, as well. Last summer the big trend was oversized white ceramic collections; do you have one of these sitting in your jewelry box?
