When buying women’s watches there are a lot of things to think about like what they will used for, what functions would the person like and what color do they prefer. Womens watches come in many brands and price ranges, creating a budget is important before starting to shop. Some women like to spend time at the beach and will enjoy a watch that is durable and water-resistant. Some will like a dressy watch if they are the type that is very social and likes to dress up for an evening out. If the woman is in the corporate world she might enjoy something that looks good with a business suit.

There are some brands that a person prefers over others, there are brands that are more dependable than others and there are some watch manufacturers that are more fashion forward. All watches will tell the time of day, although some are so artsy it could be difficult, functionality is a key question to determine as watches are made to do many things. There are models that have alarms or striking mechanisms that will tell a person what time it is without even looking. A complicated watch means it is a chronograph, this can be used as a stopwatch and some even have the phases of the moon. The higher end brands will have minute repeaters and some will display time in 12 hour displays.

The types of displays are digital and analog with analog being the most popular. These are the styles with numbered dials, they have hour and minute hands and some also have second hands. Quartz driven analog will snap the second hand and a mechanical movement is a smooth sweep. This style of watch is often a fashion watch or an investment piece. An analog watch is designed to be worn on the left wrist; the pushers are located on the right side of the case for easy adjustment. The watch can be worn on the right wrist but will need to be removed for adjustments. Digital watches have LCD or LED screens, they usually have features such as alarms and the ability to be read in the dark. They are typically more utilitarian than fashion.

A womans watch can be a piece of jewelry or something just to tell the time. It is a visible accessory that can be a work of art, can include precious gems and be made from precious metals. Women’s watches can be made for diving or for clocking sporting events. Know your woman before shopping for a watch to make the right choices.
